In 2019, as part of the Ukrainian Cultural Festival in Lebanon, which spanned over two weeks, a concert was held by the famous Ukrainian singer, winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, Jamala.

It was her first concert in the Middle East, which took place in the luxurious hall of the “Casino du Liban”. The guests of the enchanting event were treated to unprecedented note of the singer’s voice, featuring her original style of performing Ukrainian and Crimean-Tatar songs, performed in a world-class talent. The concert became a leading event in the cultural life of Lebanon.
Prior to Jamala’s performance there was an opening of the Crimean Tatar art exhibition “Chain. Links of memory”, which was dedicated as a remembrance of the 75thanniversary of the displacement of the Crimean Tatars, as well as a speech by the member of the Ukrainian Parliament and the Leader of the Crimean Tatar Nation, Mustafa Dzhemilev, followed by a few words from the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lebanon, Ihor Ostash.
The concert was made possible through the combined effort of the Embassy of Ukraine in Lebanon and the support of the Ukrainian Community of Lebanon.
